Franz Josef Glacier
 
The fragile heart of the Franz Josef glacier. Over the years, I’ve seen these glaciers retreat and shrink every time I visit. What was once a thick seam of blue ice churning down the snow capped mountains and onto the river bed have now thinned so drastically that some areas are now just bare with rock. It isn’t hard to see that in a matter of time, this incredible world of ice will slowly cease to exist.
